Salon North promises big and delivers bigger, as on the 22nd November we have New Scientist Cosmology consultant Marcus Chown to explain the quantum world in ten easy steps. This award winning writer, broadcaster and astrophysicist developed this session especially for Salon to help us get to grips with the secrets of life, the universe and everything. After hearing him speak, we guarantee you will understand the forces of physics that govern our world from parallel universes to understanding how to travel through time.

So just what was Edwardian Britain really like? To find out for Harrogate’s first History Festival, Salon North is taking a lateral look at the years before the war.
