14th January 2021 | Live Stream

For decades, women have been called 'bossy', 'hysterical' and 'neurotic' in situations where men might simply be dubbed 'assertive'. Women are constantly worrying about being polite, even finding themselves in uncomfortable situations they'd rather avoid due to a fear of saying the wrong thing. We all have questions about our bodies but often women's voices are silenced for being impolite or improper.

We need to change the narrative around women and we need to use our voices to take control.

So why not come along and join the conversation on 14th January as we explore female assertiveness with social activist and author of What We’re Told Not to Talk About (But We’re Going to Anyway)Nimko Ali, and journalist, commentator and author of The Power of Rude: A woman's guide to asserting herself, Rebecca Reid.

Yes, in this empowering call-to-arms, we’ll be taking a deep dive into how we can reclaim the narrative around our bodies and refuse to bow to the taboos which keep us silent. We’ll journey through dating, family relationships, sex, the workplace, money, customer service, and more and show women how we can reclaim the word 'rude' and use it to advantage.

Nimko and Rebecca will be in conversation with author and award-winning journalist Nichi Hodgson before we open to your questions - LIVE. There is no such thing as oversharing.
