19th November 2019 | The AllBright

After a year of division, we wanted to do a Salon that celebrates the joy in eating and drinking together and to shine a light on the kindness and generosity of the oncoming season. So on the 19th of November, we’re inviting you to Be My Guest for a heartwarming and thought-provoking discussion of hospitality, over a two-course dinner, with renowned author, and founder of Authors for Peace, Priya Basil.

Through beautiful stories crossing countries and cultures, Priya will explore the private and political aspects of being host, guest and stranger. As she says ”We live in a world where some have too much and others not enough, where immigrants and refugees are both welcomed and vilified, and where most of us spend less and less time cooking and eating together, eating together with friends and family can be where the best conversations take place – talk about the world, religion, politics, culture, love and cooking.”

Priya Basil invites us in to explore the meaning and limits of hospitality today, and in doing so makes a passionate plea for a kinder, more welcoming world, reminding us that we have more in common than divides us, and getting us ready to begin the season that brings us all together.

Priya Basil is at Salon London to embrace the kindest, most generous part of the year through thinking deeper about the art of hospitality.

19 November, 6:30 pm - 9:30 pm. Tickets are £35 and include the Salon exploring hospitality with an in conversation with Priya, and a discussion over a two-course dinner in a private dining room at The Allbright members' club
