21st March 2019 | Covent Garden

Does your gender affect your intelligence, your capability, your ambition? They’ve been arguing in the (academic) streets about this one. Finally - the results are in – and as our favourite professor of neuro-imaging Gina Rippon will explain – they are pretty explosive for our traditional understanding of the gendered brain.

Nervous States are the murky new spaces where we respond to information by relying on our feeling about the information rather than grappling with facts. This is a dangerous, uncharted place to be – says Goldsmith’s professor William Davies who will be explaining how and why our feelings are taking over the world.

How do we reply to a colleague's weird email, react if left on read by your best friend, recover from an accidental like in a deep dive in social? Our work, friendships, and love lives have been changed beyond belief by digital. Wired’s Senior Editor Victoria Turk is to the rescue to restore well-being and decent digital behaviour with her much needed highly entertaining Digital Etiquette.

Doors open 7pm, 21 March. Covent Garden - venue announced on the day. Tickets are £15 or why not become a member and get access to all Salons in a year?
