Evolution, Revolution, CONSTITUTION

May 6th. It's the night before one of the most unpredictable elections in decades. So what better time to explore constitution? Think of tonight as Question Time with cocktails.

First we explore our own yours. What does it mean to be you?  Explorer, medic and writer Gavin Francis will brilliantly take us on a journey through ourselves, taking in health and illness, the workings of our brain and heart and offering insights into the secrets of own bodies.

Then get to grips with the politics, Professor Robert Hazell is a leading academic in government and consititution at UCL. An expert on hung Parliaments and was the go to person to explain how government was formed after the 2010 election. This is your perfect opportunity to understand what happens after the May 7th votes are counted.

Religion and constitution have historically been a thorn in each other’s side, and we  will welcome Yasmin Alibahi Brown telling us why she implores modern Islamic women to refuse the veil.  Yasmin is winner of the Orwell Prize for journalism, a columnist for The Independent and a familiar face on our televisions, talking on matters of multiculturalism.

TV star and agitator of UK’s youth Rick Edwards has written ‘None of the Above’ a passionate call to voting action as a counterpoint to certain media stars calling for the youth of today not to vote. When people don’t vote they get margainalised he says, and he will be explaining his constitutional standpoint.

We will then throw the room over to your question of constitution. Get involved. Proud Archivist, doors at 7pm. Get your tickets here to make sure we see you there.
