Wil Hodgson is a writer, storyteller, comedian and spoken word perfomer from Chippenham. He won the Perrier Best newcomer award at the 2004 Edinburgh Fringe Festival and has appeared often on Radio 4 including his own show “Straight Outta Chippenham” as well as TV shows such as Russell Howard’s Good News. He has supported Mark Thomas on his national tour and also opened for such diverse acts as poet John Cooper Clarke and  Punk bands such as  Zounds and The Men That Will Not Be Blamed For Nothing. Wil’s previous one man shows have included 2004’s award winning “The Passion of the Hodgson”, 2007’s “Straight Outta Chippenham” which was performed at both the Edinburgh Fringe and the Melbourne International Comedy Festival and 2012’s Kidnapped by Catwoman which looked at his fetishes and the childhood comic books and TV shows that inspired them. This year he performed his first non comedy spoken word show at the Edinburgh Fringe, a look at the bizarre lives of Britain’s hangmen entitled “You Will Be Taken From This Place”. He is currently working on his first printed collection of short stories.
