The Beat My Heart Skipped

Robin Choudhury is a Professor of Cardiovascular Medicine at Oxford University and Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians. He  is known for discoveries in medical imaging – particularly for developing 'tags' that allow imaging at the level of molecules.  Recent interests extend to questioning how contemporary techniques for dynamic imaging can help to further understand the ingenious landmark contributions to anatomy and physiology made by Leonardo, Thomas Willis, William Harvey and others. He co-organised "Seeing the Human Heart" at the Ashmolean Museum – an exploration  of how the heart has been seen in science, art and literature from medieval times to today. He is a practising interventional cardiologist at the Oxford Heart Centre, working previously in London and at the Mount Sinai Medical Center, New York.
