Can a city be a forest? In London, 8.6 million people live in just 600 square miles alongside 8.4 million trees, which, according to one UN definition, makes it one of the world’s largest urban forests.
To help us get to grips with our very special urban forest, we’re hosting our first-ever walking Salon on 12 May with author of the acclaimed London’s Street Trees and London is a Forest, Paul Wood.
In this 2 hour-long guided walk from the south side of Tower Bridge to the Tate Modern, Paul offers us a whole new way to experience the city. He’ll uncover remarkably diverse habitats, venerable individual trees, as well as the intriguing history, people, plants and animals that have shaped it.
